A team of engineers and political scientists, including University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Jennifer Lather, is conducting research with the University of Rhode Island VOTES project to combat the problem of long wait times at election voting sites. Chloe Johnson and Grace Kelly watch voters move through the polling station at St Luke United Methodist Church at 1621 Superior Street. Sociology and Political Science students are helping research being done regarding polling places and how they can be optimized for voting quickly and efficiently. 2020 Presidential Election.
