200521 Flowers 315

Stacy Adams, Associate Professor of Practice for Agronomy and Horticulture, waits for a driver to unlock the rear hatch so he can set a flat of flowers in the SUV. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Horticulture Club hosted its first-ever plant giveaway Thursday, a replacement for the club's annual plant sale and fundraiser was due to the university shutdown in response to the global pandemic in mid-March. A prepackaged assortment of plants in a cardboard flat will be ready for each recipient. There were two sessions of giveaways with 100 flats of plants at each one. It only took 22 minutes to give away the morning allocation of flats. May 21, 2020. Photo by Craig Chandler / University Communication.
